I got a PC with Windows XP SP2 Professional installed and some encrypted files on it. As the OS crashed and cant be repaired i reinstalled it. Before reinstalling i exported the certificate and key. i reinstalled the OS by formating just the drive on which OS was installed, keeping other drives intact, including the one which containes encrypted files. after reinstalling the OS i created the user account with same username and password as before (to solve some sharing problem – the PC shares resources with other computers which are on a domain, but this PC is not part of the domain). imported the key and tried to recover the encrypted files. but i get a an Access Denied error. plese help. thanks in advance.
