NTFS in WIn 2k offers an option to encrypt files which is an additional level of security ?

how do i do this practically ??

Select the files or folder you want to encrypt, right mouse click and select properties. Then click on advanced and select 'Encrypt...'

Something to keep in mind:

YOu cannot encrypt a compressed file, and you can't compress an encrypted file. It is either one or the other.
The compression is also an option on the same window as the encryption, as told to you by MaximK.

And, if you do start encrypting files, I suggest you export the Recovery Agent key to a floppy and save it somewhere safe.
