End Now at log off

By JADavis9 ·
Often, but not always, when I log off Windows XP on my tablet, it goes through a process where it can't shut down certain programs that must be running in the background. Then I get several boxes one after the other saying that it can't shut down xxxx program and offering me an End Now button but warning me that I might lose any unsaved data. I have been through this many times and I just hit the Enter button as each box appears to End Now. The following programs are the ones it seems to always go through in this order:
Bluetooth Notification
scureapp.exe (my Omnipass password software)
ATSwpNav (?)
knw_run.exe (?)
Any program that was open at the time of log off will also get an End Now box - like perhaps Outlook.
Should I just accept this or is there anything that this issue suggests?

the ATSwpNAV.exe is fingerprint recognition software.

If you never use them, I would simply disable them in services or set them to manual.

But yes, just accepting the end now is ok. I'd also look for patches and/or updates to them which might solve the hang problem with windows closing the service during shutdown.
