Currently my OS of XP keeps doing memory dumps at start up right before the log on screen appears. I have another computer that I can merge to and am able to just wipe the drive and start new after that. However, I still need some of the data remnant on my main profile of XP. It’s not the administrator, if it was I would be able to access it, but when I try from another XP machine I recieve the error messege that my access is denied. What I’m curious about is can I bypass the directory lock by using something like say, linux, and copy the files from there. ( I know the Directory Paths that I want to copy so that shouldn’t b an issue. Or someway to diagnosis and repair my original XP OS. I already tried the recovery console on my XP disc, but was at a loss of what I should do. I didn’t really know what actually happened so i didn’t want to act prematurely. If anyone could offer their advice on my particular conundrum it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
