entry point not found…

by mikecaskey . Updated 25 years ago

When I start Outlook 2000 I get three error messages:

1.DDE Server Window:Outlook.exe – “Entry point not found. The procedure entry point WNetEnumCachedPasswords could not be located in the dynamic link library MPR.dll.”

And when I click “Ok”…

2.”A recently installed program may cause Microsoft Office or other e-mail enabled programs to function improperly. Outlook can resolve this conflict without affecting the program that originally caused the problem. Do you want Outlook to resolve this problem?”

I click Yes and the first error message pops up twice until the final message:

3. “Outlook was unable to resolve the conflict… Outlook needs to modify a system component that another program is currently using. To fix this problem, please restart windows.”

I restart the computer and the same thing happens all over again.
I tried re-installing Outlook, and then the whole suite with no luck. I also tried using a copy of MPR.dll from another box with no luck. I think that if I could find out what was using MPR.dll while Outlook was trying to repair it, I could free it up and then restart Outlook… Any ideas?
Any help would be appreciated!
