Epson Laser printer EPL-6100L

By peonyh ·
I bought the EPL-6100L back in January and at the same time bought an extra ink cartridge. Only now do i need to change to this new cartridge.

After changing to the new cartridge, the output became visibly fainter compared to the previous cartridge.

What could be the problem and how to rectify it?

These are the possible things that i have tried :
- shook the cartridge before putting it in
- reset the toner level
- checked that the photoconductor looks ok
- called the Epson helpdesk & they advised me of the above

Anyone has anymore solutions? Please help!!!!

how hard would it be to exchange this cartridge to rule out bad new cartridge?

if it worked fine before and this is the only thing that has changed?

Most likely a faulty toner cartridge.

As per Shultze baby try another cartridge.
Also to rule out the transfer of image from the cartridge to the paper perform the following.

Prepare a document (word etc) with a full page of text ("X"s in Bold?) and print. When he page is half way through he print cycle open the cver (this will stop the printer). Remove the paper an inspect (but don't touch!) the drum surface for the image that has yet to be transered. If it is strong then it could be your printer is not transfering the image correctly.
