equations change size in x4 word perfect

Intel? Core? i7-860 running xp pro, installed x4 of word perfect. Whether i open an existing doc or create a new one, whenever the equation becomes active or if i save the doc the size of the equation changes (font). I tried downloading x5 to see if any difference but does the same thing. Installed wp11 and NO PROBLEM? It works fine
