ERP Software selection

By claymuir ·
I was wondering if anyone could help me out a little with ERP selection. My company is currently using Protean/avantis by marcam and we are not satisfied with it. We are considering switching software and I need to compile a list and compare the functions and price. The user interface will be very important. The packages we will need are warehousing, inventory, procurement, finicials and good reporting abilities as well as support for EDI.

Any advice or links (urls) would be helpful.

We use Richter for ERP and MRP. We had to create a lot of our own interfaces. EDI is poor, at best. We use Lawson for all of our finicials. If you would like more info feel free to email me at

We just selected Lawson to replace the exact same systems you replaced. EDI/XML abilities
were very important to us as was TCO. The user interface is very clean and the system
is TOTALLY 100% web-enabled. We didn't find
this with the other 3 (SAP, Oracle, & Peoplesoft) vendors we looked at.

Good luck.
