Error 5774

On the Win2k Server’s Event Log, I receive
the 5774 error multiple times daily (10-20).
The error reads:
Registration of the DNS record (…varies)
failed with the following error:
DNS unable to interpret format.

What can I do to fix this?

my guess is that you have on your nic or
dailup network card an isp dns configured.
you need to put your server dns ip address
at the tcp-ip properties -dns .

This may be a bit drastic but you could try running dcpromo and demote the server, then run it again and promote it. I had the same problem and as a result could not share my internet connection w/o stopping the DNS service on the server, which of course disabled AD. I did as described, and after reestablishing the trust relationships w/ the other PC’s on the LAN, everything seems to be going fine.
