Error Access Denied in external hard disk

by spitknievel . Updated 17 years, 9 months ago

Hi,

I need help on how I can open my external hard disk.

Yesterday, its working fine and OK. I have to reformat a lenovo notebook, since the notebook cannot log-in to Windows, I try to rescue files by going to Rescue and Recovery option. I had plug in the USB external hard disk and put in the AC power adaptor. The laptop was able to detect the external hard disk but it shows C:/ (then the external brand drive) instead of other letter drive. But I didnt mind it, I straight away save the files I want to backup in my external drive.

Then I turn off the notebook and disconnect the external hard disk. I do the reformatting of the notebook. After I have finished, I connect my external hard disk again to transfer the files I have copied. In autoplay, my external HD is working. But when I try to double click the external HD, laptop said G:\Access Denied. And also when I try to right click and choose Open, same error (G:\Access Denied).

CAn help me pls, is this a virus inside my external HD? Pls advise. Thanks in advance.
