Error applying Exch2003 SP2

By Tim Marshall - Houston ·
While applying Exchange 2003 SP2 I recieve an error in my C:\Temp\eventlog.txt file that is described in this
article, http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=839495.
All of the entries in the registry were already there, except the third entry for the version key was listed as "Version"="9.107.8320". I changed it to reflect what the article said
(9.107.5512) and rebooted the server but it was no help I still got the same error message.

The entry in the log reads:
[06/06/06,21:22:57] Microsoft Search: Initialize, Search version
'9.107.5512' installed.
[06/06/06,21:22:57] setup.exe: ***ERRORLOG EVENT*** : ModuleID not found in
map in GetSetupComponentByModuleID() --
[{DA943894-7A14-4FFF-BBDC-C004FAE2310B}]
[06/06/06,21:22:57] setup.exe: ***ERRORLOG EVENT*** : ModuleID not found in
map in GetSetupComponentByModuleID() --

[06/06/06,21:22:57] Setup.exe: inside ISetupManager::LoadActionOverrides()
[06/06/06,21:22:57] setup.exe: ***ERRORLOG EVENT*** : Run() :
RunLoadSetup(), an exception has occured.

The server is Exch 2003 SP1 Ent Ed (single server), on Windows 2003 SP1 with all the latest
updates.

Thanks

Really not sure if this will help,as I am sure you have researched this as well. Try reading this and see if it resolves your problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305097/ .

It turned out that the Recipient Update Service was pointing to an incorrect/old domain controller. I changed the setting and it worked.
