error auto-sensing hard disk drive

Is there any remedy if the hard disk cannot be sense anymore by the computer..? Please answer..

Can you detail what your are doing, what type of drive it is (SATA or IDE), does the drive sound like it spins up, Did you setup the bios to see the drive, etc)did you co

Yes Sir, it is a SATA.., I set it as primary, I set as secondary on the other pc, but with the same message, error auto-sensing. If BIOS cannot sense it.. is there another way to get the files on it. Because my basic understanding is a failure to detect the hard disk by BIOS would mean the hard disk is physically damage. I am open for correction. Thanks for your reply Sir markp24
