If you get BIOS beeps, there is some function in the MB, CPU, and power supply.

Check with your motherboard / BIOS mfg for a list of beep codes.
(there are also a couple of articles, and a download in the TR archives)

Drop back to a minimum configuration.
CPU, 1 RAM module, Video card.
Disconnect / remove everything else.

Reset the CMOS memory.
If there is not a jumper, remove the battery, and unplug the power supply for 1/2 hour or so.

Make sure that any jumpers on the MB are set properly.

Make sure that the video card does seat fully in the slot. If any doubt, remove the bracket from the card, and plug it in, or use a PCI card.

If you can provide more details on the components, I might be able to give you a more specific answer.

If I understand your question, you can not hear the error beeps. Short and sweet, Check and make sure your PC speaker is connected to the motherboard.

For your BIOS problem try and reset the CMOS memory. Check for a jumper on the motheboard. If there is not a jumper, remove the battery, and unplug the power supply for 1/2 hour or so.

For the rest of your problem you must give more information!

Have you tried re-seating the CPU? I've had a few boards by me that had the same symptoms ... played with the ZIF lever a bit and all worked fine.

Your Motherboard needs three things to post:

1: Video Card
2. CPU
3. RAM

Assuming your PC speaker is funtional and you attempt to post without any (or all) of these any working Motherboard should scream with beeps. If it does not the Motherboard is bad and usually needs to be replaced.
