Error generated while running **.exe

I am current getting the following message when I am running either GP Dynamics of MS Messanger;

‘(msmsgs.exe) or (Dynamics.exe) has generated and error and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log will be created’

I am not find the error log under Event Viewer and the problem occurs on a daily basis. What may causing the problem and how can I solve it?
