ERROR MESSAGE IN WINDOWS ME

WHEN I TRY TO START MY COMPUTER IT WON'T BOOT I GET A ERROR MESSAGE THAT IT IS MISSING OR AHS A CORRUPT FILE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD HOW DO I FIX THIS WITH OUT LOSING ALL MY HARD DRIVE INFO

according to Microsoft, you must rename the file to Vmm32.old in the C:\Windows\System folder, and then reinstall Windows Millennium Edition to re-create this file. http://tinyurl.com/brym

Did you recently update ZA firewall without shutting it off perchance? If so the answer will be found @ the ZA site.....The newest/latest ZA upgrades don't cause this specific error, but some of the older ones do.
