Error: MSTASK.EXE-Procedure entry point

By wsamis ·
I've never seen this error before in my life:

MSTASK.EXE - The procedure entry point GetDomainDNSNameForDomain could not be located in the dynamic link library, ADSLDPC.DLL

Windows 2000, SP3, IE 6, all patched up. User cannot log onto the domain, but local Admin can log in. MMC Snap-in errors when tring to view event viewer and is unavailable. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention. Tried SFC, reinstalled SP3 with no luck. Almost ready to fry it and re-image.

Been looking at technet for this. There are a couple articles that seem relevant. One of them related to LSA lookups and another recommended applying SP4.

SP4 might be worth it, before flatennatting it. (If you have the time)

Good Luck

Thanks for the suggestion. Applying SP4 seemed to do the trick.
