Error occured in the script

By ljennash ·
I have a user that asked me about this error he received on his home computer. Of course, I wasn't there and can't say exactly what the computer was doing, or what the user was doing for that matter, but he asked me to look into it. I do know theydo not have a server attached to their computer, except perhaps through their cable provider modem, which is connected to the user's Linksys router.

Error occured in the script
Line: 15
Char: 2
Error: Server execution failed
Code: 0
URL file: //c:\Windows\System\AdCache1 B_638000.HTM

Any idea as to what this means? Thanks so much for your help. I have requested some add'l background info from the user, so perhaps I can report some add'l information soon.

The error means that the scirpt that was execusing on the server had an error. This does not indicate someting is wrong on the user's PC but rather poor code on the server.

My answer is a bit different now that I see the error appeared on boot. It looks like some SpyWare has gotton installed on the system and is executing something upon boot. Take a look at the Startup group for something suspicious. Software can also be made to start from registry settings. Take a look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run in regedit to find things that don't look right.

As some additional information, this error occurred upon boot-up of the system.
