By jsarinana ·
One of my Win2000 stations is getting an error when he trys to save any file to a shared folder on a NT server. I've checked all the security setting on the NT side and it's fine, this is the error:
An error has occured whilw reconnecting S: to \\ksn-inc\share MS Windows Network local device name is already in use.

This usually indicates you have more than one mapping to the S drive letter. Make sure you don't have something else on the system attempting to use the S drive letter. Batch files (like login scripts) tend to cause this problem.

Hi,
Definately a drive mapping issue here. Disconnect the S: Drive & dont map it thru a login script or any batch file. Manually attach it to \\KSN-INC\share & then check.
Else if you have to use a batch file / login script run "NET USE S: /DEL/YES" and then "NET USE S: \\KSN-INC\Share" in the file.
