Errors at startup

On Dell Inspiron 8000 running ME, I get a frequent error message that "Naldesk has caused an error in USER.EXE. Naldesk will now close.
This is followed up by "MPREXE has cuased an error in USER.EXE". How can this be resolved?

I must assume you are running NALDESK from a Novell or Novell Zenworks network log in script?

If so, remove the naldesk-line from the login script and define a scheduled policy to load naldesk from the server instead.

There are several Novell TID's on this issue:

If you are NOT running on a NOvell netwrok and have bought a used PC with this problem, you will need to remove Novell references.

Secondly, click START>RUN and type msconfig (enter) when the new wnidow opens,select the Startup tabe and scroll down until you see NALDESK and uncheck the box beside it. Should reboot OK now.

Again if networked:
This is an issue that Novell will be fixing in later releases as they will not be dependant on the clients connection table. For the meantime, if this is during NWADMION sessions, NWADMIN is to old, use Console One and you won't get the errors.
