    Errors Copying Files

We are getting a type -37 and a type -50 error when we try to copy files off the server. Any clue as to what these errors mean, and how to fix this problem thanks.

      Greg:

      -37 = “Bad File Name”
-50 = “Error in User Parameter”

What type of server is it?

After I posted the question, I found the errors, which actually turned out not to help me at all. The folder that we were copying from was corrupted. Thanks anyway.

You may be experiencing a database tree error. I’d recommend running techtool, or norton to see if maybe there is a bad resource fork, or some sort of indexing problem.

      hope this helps.

Already took those measures. I got the problem resolved, it was a corrupted folder.

Is it possible that you are trying to copy files that have names longer than 27 characters. Try to truncate the name on the server side before the copy. Usually this error will occur at the end of the copy process when the verification process findsthat the namer is different than the original.
