estimating disc space for imaged files

I am attempting to run a pilot for document imaging and need a formula to calculate how much disc space will be required to store images of what are now drawers of paper documents...contracts and such.

Is there a per page formula, for example?

I suggest you use pdf format and you can do this quite easily for free using freepdf. This gives you a tight image which can be added to, if not use tif. But as an estimate you will have to scan in a document with complete coverage and this will give you the calulation for maximum pages against space at 100%.
