Event ID 2019

by fa-ct . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

Last week, our Win2K server presented me with an interesting scenario. It could see the peer-to-peer network, but no one on the network could see anyone else or the server. Our server is a file server, allowing user access to the workgroup throughpasswords.

I rebooted the server, and everyone was able to log in and see the rest of the network and the server. What ever had caused everyone to nolonger be able to access the network had taken place before a telecommuter tried to dial in, as even that wasn’t working.

I checked the Event Viewer logs, and ran across the above event ID repeatedly. I couldn’t locate this ID in the MS Knowledge Base, so was wondering why the server would have had this problem. ID 2019 had a description that Windows couldn’t allocate pages from the non-paging file, because it was empty. I have to admit that I’m scratching my head. Any ideas on why this occurred would be helpful in preventing it from occurring in the future.
