Event ID 3216 error?

By ldregely ·
Can someone help me resolve this error that is generated in event viewer. The description is System error 59 occurred. I've looked up error 3216 but can't find the description error 59 that goes along with 3216. Any help would be appreciated. Tahnks.

I am assuming that the error is linked to replication? As the technet cd had several articals that were event 3216 but with not system error 59 as you have indicated. At any rate...if this is a replication problem that event might point you in theright direction.

When was the last time you did not get this error?

What has changed since then?

What are the event id's right around the Event 3216?

I assume there must be a service that is running that is creating this event id, try logging on to the machine with a user who has more permissions, ie to replicate or security as in a backup operator.

Post a comment to some of the above questions, the more info, the better, perhaps what you have tried already.

Event ID 3216 error?

by strakovsky In reply to Event ID 3216 error?

FYI, to obtain description for numerated event, open your console and type 'net helpmsg 3216'. The answer would be:

System error *** occurred.
EXPLANATION
The Replicator service stopped because the listed system error occurred.
ACTION
Check the cause of the system error.

Error 59:
An nexpected network error occured

Basically, all of these mean that your replication partner did not respond at a time. The reason is probably because you've lost physical connection, unable to logon oropen shared folder on that machine.

Go to ControlPanel->Server->Replication to find out which computer you're trying to involve into replication process.

Check if your can ping, login, open shares on that server or workstation.

I hope, I answered your question. If you still unclear, you may contact me directly via e-mail.
