I would like to know why is my Windows NT 4.0 service pack 5 machine is coming up with an error in the service control manager box “at least one service or driver has failed during system startup use event viewer” when logging on this workstation this message keeps popping up. I did look in the Event Viewer but there is no error messages only information messages which says “VirusScan NT McShield Service Started-scanning for 58398 viruses.

It seems to be something with McAfee virus scanner.
