Event ID:8011 Browser Error

By toreador ·
I have had an interesting error show up in my BDC event viewer that I can't resolve. The error is "The browser was unable to add the configuration parameter D_Domain." D_Domain is the name of one of my remote domains. This message is logged in the event viewer about 4 times a minute and appears to be more annoying that critical, but I would like to resolve it ASAP. The BDC is NT 4.0 W/ SP6a

Check in the Network Control Panel, the Computer Browser Service properties, if the D_Domain is listed remove it and restart the server.

The D_Domain did not show in the network applet. I added it and rebooted with no luck, then removed it and rebooted and the error is still being generated. Thanks for the suggestion.

1. In the Control Panel Network tool, select the Services tab, and then select Computer Browser and click Properties.

2. Select the D_Domain domain name and click Remove.

3. Click OK.

4. Click Close.

5. Shut down and restart Windows NT.

You may have already checked this but I believe you have to remove the "D_Domain" on the PDC as well.
