Event Viewer Errors

by shellyewton . Updated 26 years ago

I receive an error that a service or driver has failed upon start-up, use the Event Viewer for details.
The PC’s Event Viewer contains these messages:

Two of this type:
Event id: 3 source: serial type: info. Category: none
Description:
User configuration data for parameter COM1 overriding firmware configuration data.

Description:
User configuration data for parameter COM2 overriding firmware configuration data.

And two of this:
Event id: 4
Source: dltport
Type: info.
Category: none

Description:
The device COM1 already exists and may be redirected.

Description:
The device COM2 already exists and may be redirected.

Now I have tried everything to resolve this error. The computer appears to be working fine, other than the initial “error window” at start-up.
These errors are on a laptop, Compaq armada 7400, that had a previous user who did the installation of the OS. (Win NT4.0 with SP6a) It uses a CardWare control application version 2.11.008.
