I purchased a Gateway PC with 1.3 Pentium IV, 40gig hard drive, and 128 Ram, using Windows 2000 Pro.
The computer was shipped using FAT32. I set up the security logs and audit policy to log sucessful and unsuccessful log-ons and object access. The security log in event viewer seemed to work fine. Then I used the “Convert” command to convert to NTFS, and now the security logs only successful attempt, even though the policy is still set up to log both successful & unsuccessful attempts. I tried to reinstall using both upgrade and clean install attempts to correct the problem, with no success.
I purchased a Windows 2000 Professional Disk, made the startup flopies, and reinstalled again from scratch, and once again, the log worked until I converted to NTFS.
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?
Thanks for any help!
