Eventlog is full and nt4 s kepps writing

By orbital_flux ·
I'm a student biggining my MCSE course, at home I have two NT4 servers, one PDC the other BDC, But Ever since I installed Boot Magic 4 The BDC machine has really gone nuts it just keeps writing to the Evenlog, what/why I don't know, this keeps the processor reving at 15%-19% - writing to the log, the hard drive just keeps running to keep up, now-it gives me a message saying that the log is full. I don't know where the log file is. why might this be? AND how can I fix this? could it be Boot Magic ?

thanks in advance !

Start>program>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer.
Three types of log in there. System, app, and blabla.
Check each log for errors that occur. You can clear it, save it, and check which app(s) gives the error(s) (it seems you have a service that keeps trying to start over and over again and generates an error that the Event logger service catches and writes it in there.

Also, while your troubleshooting the problem it is a good idea to change the settings of the event log. (Come in handy for your MCSE as well).
In Event Viewer, select Log Settings from the Log pull-down menu. In here you should set Overwrite EventsAs Needed and set the Maximum Log Size a little bigger. Repeat this for the three logs.
