Each time I shut down or restart after clicking on my login icon, the cpu boots normally up until the desktop, then an error msg shows up saying the cmicnfg.cpl file can’t be found. I click OK & then the boot up desktop programs start loading. At that point, suddenly & EVERY time, the cpu launches the desktop into 800X even tho I have set it repeatedly to 1024 X……I have since, removed the cmaudio string thru regedit, after reading a number of posts elsewhere that this should cure it. I have loaded XP Svc Pk 2. I run AVG & Parrot RegEdit & XoftSpy SE…Start up systray inc. Billeo e-Wallet software, etc
