When I someone sends a file in Excel 2000 format within Outlook I get in its entirety. However, when someone sends the same file within Excel 2000 and selecting sending file as an attachment, I receive partially contents of the file. Why is this so?

I must first say your questions is not phrased very well.
I am only assuming that someone is sending you an EXCEL 2000 document and you are opening it with EXCEL 98 as your state you are running OUTLOOK 98. EXCEL 98 will not convert a EXCEL 2000sheet properly unless you have the newest service pack from Microsoft. Which I recommend you upgrading to anyway. When saving an EXCEL document you can select what format you want to save it as this also has a bearing on how it is opened. Good luck.
