Excel 2010 64-bit Beta...Arrow keys don't work!

By fadbel ·
Recently (actually today)I opened an existing Excel file and attempted to move from cell to cell using my arrow keys.
The only operation they perform is movement of the whole sheet. I even tried the Number pad keys and same results.
This is the effect I get on any excel file, blank or existing. The version is: 14.0.4536.1000 (64-bit). I don't know if this is the result of an update I'm not aware of.

I am requited

I just somehow knew there had to be something quick about this.

(Advisory: I know what Excel is; trained a little with it; have absolutely no use for it; am requited)

Hope you're right, Bentley.

It's only because after 27 years doing support (as well as my other duties), I've seen this one a few times.

Sad really!

Took me a long time

to realize I had a 'scroll lock' key. Typewriters didn't have those.

or a prt scr button...and then there's all them function keys ; the first time I used a typewriter, i think i was all of 7 and it was an old underwood i think from the '30's with the old colored ribbons...when i went to secretarial school back in the '80's, i was so impressed by my first ever electric typewriter and the big ole bulky word processors !

Scroll Lock has no indicator light on Laptop

by fadbel In reply to Scroll Lock

You got it!
My HP dv8 laptop doesn't have an indicator light for scroll lock which resides as a "fn" selection on the insert key. It does have a num lock indicator though.
Sometime in the past day or so, I activated the scroll lock while attempting something else. This system is new to me and I'm still learning it's "PECULUARARITIES" (I forgot how that's spelled.).
Thanks for the assist.

I like your spelling

More better than the "correct" one.

I like that as well.

I'm practicing pronunciation for future use.

Reminds me of a couple of comic bits from movies, and an alternate version of a Mike Oldfield recording.
