    Excel 97 : toolbars disappeared

    Locked

    by nagazaki ·

No more toolbars in excel97 after opening a spreadsheet containing macros.

I resolved the same problem with Excel 2000 by deleting the excel.xlb file, but don’t know what file to delete for the 97 version.

People talk about book.xlt in XLSTARTbut no way.

    Help would be appreciated

Can’t you just click VIEW and then TOOLBARS from the menu and just add the toolbars that you want displayed? Or am I missing something?

On a working machine, create a new workbook. Click on Tools->Macro->VB Editor. Paste this code into the Workbook_Open function:

      Application.Dialogs(xlDialogCustomizeToolbar).Show

Save and close the workbook. Open the workbook on the broken machine. When the menu comes up, place a check in ‘Worksheet Menu Bar’ and apply and your menus will be back.
