Today I have 3 users that are experiencing Excel/Word problems. It started with my computer not being able to open an excel file. I reinstalled windows and the excel problem is fixed. At the same time all of my drives (local & network) are all ofa sudden “sharing” which should not be. I don’t even know where they got the share name that they are using. This is the same for the other 2 users. The other 2 users cannot open a file in word. It says thay do not have enough memory. When theytry to use excel it opens a file with garbage written and then closes down right away.
I tried removing and reinstalling office and I tried reinstalling W98 on the one other machine. This did not correct the problem like it did on mine. My office seems fine but my drives are still sharing. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how I can fix it. I tried installing office on the network and accessing it that way but I still got the same errors.
I am at a total loss…
