I have read the articles “Ensure accurate data entry in Excel by using Data Validation to create drop-down lists” & ?Speeding up Data Entry? & wondered if anyone could answer a couple of follow-up questions on each.
1st Article:?Ensure??????????
Is it possible to either:
1) set up cells A2:A25, or perhaps only cells A2:A10 say, with a name from the list with only a single click?
I know it’s nonsense with this example but for example suppose you wanted cells A2:A10 say to be Betty.
2) enter different data validation for each of the names that could be selected.
In this example you might allow males up to 65 & females up to 60 if you had to enter ages in another cell on the same row. i.e. The data validation applies to another cell but it does depend on the previous choice made!
2nd Article: ?Speeding up??????????.?
Do the column heading have to be continuous across the row or can the data records be entered into non-adjacent columns? Can the data records be chosen from drop down lists on the form itself in the same way that they can be chosen on the spreadsheet above or is there a distinction?
