Excel Data Manipulation

By wills.jason ·
I have thousands of entries in en excel spreadsheet however one of the columns should show prices but it looks like this;
299 should be 2.99
399 should be 3.99
is there a formulae i could use to convert each of these cells.

I will assume the price is in colum A for this explaination and you have a header row so the data starts at row 2. You adjust it to fit your needs ...

Insert a column next to the one with price, in this example Column B. In the first cell at the top of the new column (Column B) type this formula ... =A2/100 and hit enter. If column A has 299 then Column B will have 2.99 and this is the right result.

Now copy the formula in cell B2 down the column until you get to the end of the data in column A. You should have (in column B) what you want. Hightlight Column B, choose Copy from the Edit menu then choose Paste Special from the Edit menu and in the dialog select values.

Now column B is not formulas but the actual numbers you want. Delete column A and you should be good to go.

Enjoy ...
