Excel Data Validation Dropdown Lists

By Coolidge_ ·
Hi,is there any way to get my dropdown lists to start at the top, rather than the bottom, so I don't have to scroll all the way up when selecting an item from the list?

I run a small busines and have built spreadsheets to help me with accounts and administrative handling.

I have a list of customers which I use on a 'lists' worksheet to validate my data entries in the main worksheet. I have named this list, but it constantly grows so instead of incorporating only cells currently with customer names in, I have selected a few cells below the existing names so that when I get a new customer I just add them to the list without renaming, etc. (eg. 55 customers but the list consists of the first 70 cells, therefore 15 at the bottom are blank).

The problem: when entering customer names into the main worksheet, I click the dropdown arrow and instead of starting from the top of the list, it starts at the bottom (i.e. where the blank cells are). This mean scrolling past the empty cells, all the way up to the top of the list each time I enter data.
