Excel doc goes read only mode by itself

My Excel doc's do this after opening them ..they go to read only mode.... this happens when they are closed a couple of times. I can't add or delete them.
After I reboot .. they will work ok..
any idea why this hppens
O/S is Win98
Office 2000 pro

Try deleleting the tempory files in your \Windows\Temp folder. this u have to do before opening any program after a new boot.

If still proble is there, it can be an OS problem also, if, before re installing win98 try removing un wanted startup programs using msconfig command.
