Excel edit paste special subtract

by exjc . Updated 25 years ago

I copied (ctrl-c) a range of values that include formulas, when I subtract these by using edit-paste-special-subtract, the formulas now subtract the formula itself.
The formuals was =(SUM(H9:H12))before the edit-paste-special-subtract but now the formula is(SUM(H9:H12))-(SUM(H9:H12). I have done similiar pastes in lotus 123 but in 123 it ignores any cell that is a formula. Is there a way around this “feature” in excel?
