Excel External properties data range

By vitalhostage ·
We have a user who works extensively with excel speadsheets. But he is having a problem with saving the External Data Range Properties and it saving the properties.

Instead of it saving the function "Overwrite existing cells with new data, clear unused cells"

It is defaulting back to the "Insert entire rowes for new data, clear unused cells"

Could anyone shed any light on if there is an option which specifies to keep the users choice and not the default setting.

Other info is he is an NT4.0 user with a 2000 Server backend.

We have tried the file ourselves and the option saves ok.

We have tried the user on various machines and it is not machine specific.

I am fairly sure it is permissions, but some where in Excel not in NT ot 2k.

Does any one know if it is likely to be such settings.

Many thanks

Doug I have tried to get to that knowledge base article but it seems to be saying it can't find it. This is a priority call for us, so do you think you could send me a link to my email address. That would be really very much appreciated. Many thanksin advance for your time on this.
