If the diskette is only for backup purposes, I do not understand why you would want to open that file to make changes. Open the file on the harddisk, make your changes and then copy that file to the floppy. Why open both?

I always start with the hard drive file. Sometimes disk is shared. When I get sidetracked by phones, meetings, etc., I forget which file I am on. Many times changes are intense and I like to back up as I do them.

I think the best you can do is click on File, Properties, and look on the General tab. It shows the location of the file.

You can create a macro, using MS Excel's Visual Basic. Thats just an idea, good luck with that one. It may be real simple if you have someone start you off.

Just add the Web toolbar(View/Toolbars/Web), so in address dropdown list you'll always see the full path to yor file.
