I received an error message trying to open a file that was created in Excel 97 and last saved before we upgraded. The error message is: cannot be accessed. Teh file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding. We have a Novell 4.11 server and I received this message opening another file before we upgraded to Office 2000. MS said it would be fixed with the new version and I ran the fixes on theNovell workstation that is effected. (instructions from Novell to correct problem) My question is, how can I recover this file if I can’t open it up at all in Excel 2000?
