I have been working on Excel worksheets developed in version 97 in Excel 2000. We have noticed a problem when the file has been saved in 2000 format with a file size of 2.69MB. When we then try to open this file in version 97 we receive a ‘Not enough Memory error’ on the same PC!. We have also noticed that the file sizes are very different in two files that contain basically the same data, graphics, charts etc from 2.69 MB to 1.59 MB. Plus the 1.59 MB file when saved in 2000 will open in 97. We need the sheets to work in 97 as our dealerships use version 97.
