Excel Files Not Opening

by mbertel . Updated 25 years ago

I have a user who has a dell optiplex GX1 with win 95 as the OS and a user of Office 2000 professional. I have noticed that whenever she receives excel attachements and tries to view them by simply double clicking on them she will get this type of error “Cannot find the file ‘C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\mjones12\Desktop\ComancheQualityInspection Worksheet.xls'(or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.” Even when the files aremoved on her computer this error will come up. Also noticed that any Excel files she wishes to view this error message will come up. I opened up Excel and I am able to view any of the files she has. The problem comes up when you double click on the file itself the error message will come up. To make things clear, this error message will pop up based on whatever the name of the excel file that is called up I appreciate any help that might be given.

Thank you
