I have experienced a weird Excel 97 phenomenon several times now, and recently had a user experience the same thing. Randomly, I’ll be working in a spreadsheet and the mouse gets “stuck” — as in no matter what keyboard combination I push, no matterhow or where or how many times I click either mouse button, all it does is highlight various parts of the spreadsheet.
The only way to continue working normally in Excel at this point (that I have found so far) is to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and end the Excel task. Sometimes and entire reboot is necessary.
Can you please help me figure out what’s causing this and how to fix it!?
