Excel IF statement

By davecar ·
I am fairly new to excel but not to general programming and I want to get the data inputted in a cell for example

I want to cross reference a grid with the data entered by the user into 2 cells like an x,y setup so the first figure is the rows and the second is the columns

So far I have managed to get the short term result but need to ad another factor to the equation. The data from the second cell needs to be checked and given a refence number as the 1 - 150 figure is split into 9 different groups as follows 0-25, 26-50, 51-75 and so forth

any feedbck would be appreciated thanks

you can do Vlookup...please refer to help if you don't know how to use Vlookup, that's basicly you put in "=vlookup(a1,lookup range,2,false)", give it a try...
