excel on win98 computer

Hi,
I have a windows98 computer and I’m trying to install excel 97′ on it..I keep getting an illegal operation…It is as follows:
ACMSETUP caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.dll at 0177:bff9d709…..
Does anybody know the cause…
Any help would be appreciated.
