Excel - Out of memory error on one machine only

By peet.joubert ·
Hi,

Ive got a windows 98 (yes, I know, I know) box running MS Office 2000. A few of the excel sheets cause a "Not enough memory" error when opened on this machine. The error is caused on this machine only. All the other machines on the network can open and edit the files with no problems.

Can anyone out there tell me whats wrong and better still how to fix it?

Thanks

Peet Joubert

system spec

by jamesatmaisonverre In reply to Excel - Out of memory err ...

You did not include the system spec like how much ram.But anyway , my guess is that because windows 98 does not have virtual memory and you are working of your physical ram ,you dont have enough.Office 2000 needs a minimum of 32mb to run.So my advice is to open task manager and launch your excel spread sheet and watch your ram counter
