Excellent read about Cyber War in the New Yorker

I had forgotten about the spy plane that was captured by the Chinese. It appears to have given them more sensitive information than the .govs originally thought.

I kept thinking I need more altitude to get a handle on it; more altitude, as in, the very nature of society and government. A handle is not to be found in the particulars.

not sure if I'm more excited/challenged about working in IT security or scared shirt-less.

I would hope that the protocols for destroying spy-plane gear have improved since then. That was a VERY costly mistake, both in terms of money and intellectual property.
