Hi,
I noticed a strange behavior in Exchange 2000. When you create a mailbox in Active Directory (in Exchange Tasks), it appears that it doesn’t really create a mailbox store until the user logs in with a mail client (ie. it creates the inbox, sent items, trash with Exchange client, or the whole folder list with outlook.) Until the user accesses his mailbox with a client, there is no folder or subfolders in M:\company.com\.
Does anyone know why this happens?
Is there anyway to create the empty mailbox in the information store short of opening a client program like outlook?
Ideally, I would like to use a tool called EXMerge to import hundereds of mailboxes, but that tool understandably errors out when it realizes that the mailbox was “created” but is not actually there yet.
Thanks in advance,
Keith Henkell
