Exch5.5: Multiple Domains, 1 exchserver

By hlj ·
Case: Several departments with their own win2000 domains, interconnected with radioLAN. The head-department has an internetconnecection where the exchangeserver is connected to. I need the server to handle each departments e-mail, hence they have their own domainnames.
When sending, the correct domainname needes to be in the from field.
Is this possible??
Any help approved!!!!

You should formulate a naming stratagy.
eg
Smith, John(exchange-siteA) and Smith, Andrew(exchange-siteB)
You can type these entries in the Display box of the exchange client properties.

The answer does not help on the question in hand!
I need the server to handle severel internet domain-registrations on one IP-address, and also display the correct domainname of my users e-mail addresses, when sending to external recipients. Basicly more domains on one exchangeserver...

For the Internet SMTP e-mail, each mailbox has a default SMTP e-mail address. This default can be set to any desired format and domain name. When an Exchange client sends e-mail to the Internet, it will use the default SMTP e-mail that has been selected in the users mailbox configuration. If you do not have a massive amount of users, the initial modifications should not take to long. If it is a lot, I have used Perl to massage the exported reciepients list against a user file to make the changes.

My recommendation would be to establish a separate Recipients container for each domain. You can use the Routing tab on the Internet Mail Service Properties page to route all the inbound domains to <inbound>.

Then, on each recipient's account, you can enter the correct SMTP address and set it as the reply address and it should work out fine.

regards!
